If you haven't heard of American rally driver Ken Block then in six minutes time he'll probably be your new automotive hero. You will also be in the minority because he became a cult car icon last year with his You Tube hit 'Gymkhana Project'.
That video saw the 41-year-old throw a specially prepared Subaru Impreza WRX STI around an abandoned airfield at high speed producing a series of awe-inspiring powerslides. It was viewed by 20 million people and became an internet favourite.
And like all successful movies it as spawned a sequel. Gymkhama Two debuted this month and sees Block return in a new car at a new location. It's a latest generation WRX STI that has been given a major makeover by tuners Crawford Performance. The new Subaru packs a staggering 421kW of power and almost 800Nm of torque thanks to the extensive engine modifications. The rest of the car -- brakes, suspension and bodywork -- has also been tuned specifically for the Gymkhana action.
Block is the co-founder of DC Shoes and uses the new video to show off the new range of rally-inspired DC clothing and shoes. He calls it an "infomercial"; we call it five and a half minutes of automotive awesomeness!
If you haven't already done so, now is the time to click on the video below.
And in case you missed it, here is the first Gymkhana video.
If you've got some spare time head to You Tube and insert 'Ken Block' into the search panel, switch off the phone and witness things you never thought possible with a car (Tip: the snowboarding is also well worth a look...)
