Pros
- The 1GD-FTV engine is already a pretty athletic unit and now it’s that bit better
- Wider tracks deliver more stable handling than standard HiLux
- The GR Sport was not challenged by the off-roading on the launch, so it’s clearly capable
Cons
- The unladen ride is sharp, especially at low speeds
- The claimed 3500kg braked towing capacity is misleading
- The interior – like standard HiLux – is aged and in need of an overhaul
