Volkswagen has released yet another teaser for its incoming 2021 Volkswagen Transporter and Multivan ahead of its full unveiling in a few weeks' time.
This time, the focus is on the people-carrying version, with the German brand revealing the all-new T7 Multivan will feature the option of a huge panoramic roof that will complement a front sunroof.
If that's not enough to wow Multivan buyers, the new design sketches suggest that VW's commercial arm will offer a version with a third row of individual seats that can be removed with little effort.
A new seat track system, meanwhile, allows further improved flexibility that includes the ability to push the third-row middle seat forward to almost the front row, instantly creating space for a bicycle or surfboard.
The table has also been rejigged for the latest Multivan and is now capable of being docked in different positions within the cabin.
Volkswagen has already previewed the front styling of its all-new Transporter and Multivan that features a pair of slimmer front LED headlights and a full-length light bar that stretches across the snout.
We’ve also seen a T7 Volkswagen Multivan people-mover testing last year with six headless crash test dummies on board.
From our first glimpse of the Ford Transit rival it looks like VW’s next-gen van will gain a stretched wheelbase for more room inside and will also feature a longer front overhang.
The latter is due to the fact the T7 Volkswagen Transporter is tipped to move to an evolution of the car-maker’s latest MQB platform which underpins the current Mk8 Volkswagen Golf hatch.
This means that the T7 will not only come with the option of electrified powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid version, it will see the van come equipped with the Volkswagen Group’s latest semi-autonomous driving aids.
As well as all the new tech, Volkswagen is primed to offer an all-wheel drive version, paving the way for a Multivan Alltrack derivative that will feature a raised ride height and butch styling to appeal to lifestyle buyers.
Stay tuned, as all will be revealed in a matter of weeks.
