The current Subaru Impreza hatchback is being sent off in style with the release of the 2023 Subaru Impreza S-Edition.
Priced from $36,290 plus on-road costs, and due to arrive in showrooms during May, the Subaru Impreza S-Edition is billed as a special model that marks 30 years of service for the popular small car.
It also acts as a swansong for the current sixth-generation Impreza before the Gen VII model arrives later this year.
Positioned at the top of the Impreza range, $3500 upstream of the 2.0i-S, the S-Edition features a variety of STI cosmetic upgrades including black 18-inch Enkei alloy wheels, front splitter, black side skirt trim, sports grille, STI-branded gear selector and exclusive ‘S-Edition’ exterior badging.
The sexy new aesthetic combines with the same standard equipment found on the Impreza 2.0i-S (from $32,790), which runs to black leather-accented upholstery, a leather-clad steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, 8.0-inch infotainment screen with smartphone mirroring, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, heated front seats, keyless entry and paddle shifters.
No changes have been made to the 2.0-litre flat four-cylinder engine (115kW/196Nm) that drives all four wheels via a continuously variable transmission.
Just four colours – Pure Red, Crystal White, Crystal Black Silica and Magnetite Grey – will be available on the special-edition.
Just 250 examples of the S-Edition are coming to Australia, all in hatchback guise.
