Fresh previews of the 2024 Skoda Kamiq and Skoda Scala have emerged, with the Czech brand’s small SUV and hatchback both underdoing an extensive mid-life upgrade that includes technology usually offered on more expensive models.
Set to be fully unwrapped on August 1 – four years after the Scala and Kamiq were introduced in Europe – the latest teaser highlights new Matrix LED headlights that will be offered as an option on both models.
Spearheading the extensive overhaul of each car’s front-end styling, the redesigned headlight cluster extends to the grille, with the daytime running lights consisting of an upper blade and lower L-shape in the corner of the lamps.
The latest preview also confirms how the Kamiq’s headlights will feature slimmed-down upper elements, while the main lamps beneath are in fact larger.
An earlier teaser of design renderings of both cars also shows how the front bumpers have been redesigned for a more striking look.
The rear-end includes new tail-light clusters with fresh LED light signatures.
Other changes include fresh alloy wheel designs and new ‘SKODA’ tailgate lettering.
Inside, Skoda says the two facelifted models will be capable of challenging more premium rivals by offering features normally associated with bigger and more expensive models.
Skoda hasn’t specifically revealed what new tech is coming, but count on a huge 12.9-inch infotainment screen being available on flagship models, as seen on the incoming 2024 Skoda Kodiaq.
It’s also tipped that both models will get a relocated column-mounted gear shifter.
Under the bonnet, expect an updated range of four-cylinder petrol engines, with mild-hybrid electric assistance in some markets.
Exact release timing and full details should be revealed on August 1.
