2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N teased ahead of Goodwood debut

Bonkers Korean super sedan will debut in mid-July at one of the world’s most iconic motoring events

UPDATE July 13, 2025: Hyundai has locked in a global reveal for the inbound IONIQ 6 N, posting a short teaser video showing the track-focussed electric sedan on film for the first time.

Set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Hyundai will uncloak its latest high-performance EV on July 10, 2025 at 21:30 (KST). That’s 10:30pm (AEST).

Meanwhile, Hyundai has confirmed more key details ahead of the IONIQ 6 N’s debut, including the fitment of N e-shift technology and N active sound for added driver engagement, as per the IONIQ 5 N, along with N drift optimizer, said to offer a broader range of customisation to allow tailored control based on the driver’s drifting proficiency.

Suspension geometry has also been fully redesigned, according to the South Korean car-maker, to bring enhanced dynamic capabilities over the 5 N SUV, a lower roll centre and enlarged caster trail for ‘improved on-centre feel and steering feedback’.

The 6 N will also come fitted with new electronically controlled stroke sensing (ECS) dampers, said to bring ‘a new level of driver confidence by delivering a refined balance of comfort and precise handling response’.

ORIGINAL June 12, 2025: Hyundai N has dropped a new batch of teaser images and confirmed its Porsche Taycan-chasing IONIQ 6 N will make its global debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Taking to its social media channels overnight to publish the quartet of shadowy stills and make the Goodwood announcement, the ‘performance blue’ brand said the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N would raise the bar over the already ground-breaking IONIQ 5 N and “redefine the N driving experience”.

“IONIQ 6 N will once again disrupt the high-performance EV segment to deliver exciting driving experiences to our fans,” N Management Group chief Joon Park said.

“We chose to debut the IONIQ 6 N at Goodwood Festival of Speed to be as close to our fans as possible.”

The 2025 edition of Goodwood will span July 10-13, meaning there is now just a month left before we see one of the most eagerly anticipated performance cars of the decade in full, with engineers having previously promised more performance, poise, range and involvement than the related 5 N crossover.

Having already seen the lesser IONIQ 6 N-Line in full and a raft of camouflaged spy photos, the new imagery doesn’t exactly bring the roof down in terms of revelations, but this is best look we’ve had yet at the slinky super sedan that’s expected to arrive Down Under in early 2026 ahead of the dearer Genesis GV60 Magma.

With a dedicated focus on ‘high-speed stability’, the IONIQ 6 N will be wider and lower than the standard versions with unique front and rear fascias, flared arches to accommodate the wider tracks, a fixed rear wing and all manner of underbody aero.

As per the 5 N, the chassis will be a dramatic step up with adaptive this and adjustable that, all honed at the Nürburgring and tailored for driver enjoyment.
