There’s now a second plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz C-Class available to Australians besides the flagship AMG C63 S E Performance, and the good news is, it’s way more affordable – but you still need $100,000.
Available to order as of today, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz C350e has been priced from $98,200 plus on-road costs and will cover up to 104km (NEDC) on a full charge of its 25.4kWh battery pack.
Said battery sustains a 95kW electric motor which combines with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine for a total system output of 230kW/550Nm; enough to launch the electrified sedan from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds.
“The standard vehicle offers AC charging up to 11kW for a 0-100 per cent charge in approximately two hours,” Mercedes said.
“DC charging, available as a cost option ($1500), allows the vehicle to be charged up to 55kW in addition to AC charging, with a 0-80 per cent charge achieved in approximately 20 minutes.”
The C350e marks itself apart from its stablemates with a subtle ‘EQ Hybrid’ badge on its front wings, the obligatory 'C350e' badge on the boot lid and can only be identified from the inside by the hybrid-specific read-outs on the 12.3-inch MBUX interface and corresponding digital instrument cluster.
Headline equipment meantime includes augmented reality navigation, Digital Light Package with adaptive high beam, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, Driving Assistance Package Plus, self-levelling rear suspension, AMG Line Exterior, 18-inch AMG alloys, a panoramic sunroof, AMG Line Interior, head-up display, heated and memory front seats, ambient lighting, leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera and keyless go.
