The 2025 Mercedes-Benz E-Class line-up has been joined by a new entry E200 variant that has been priced from $117,900 before on-road costs.
Positioned below the E300 ($132,000 plus on-roads) and the flagship all-wheel drive AMG E 53 4MATIC+ PHEV ($199,900), the new entrant to the Mercedes E-Class range sees the entry cost to the range fall by $14,100.
Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder 48-volt mild-hybrid engine, the new E200 is combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission and produces 150kW and 320Nm of torque - 50kW and 80Nm less than the E300 that uses the same powertrain.
Reintroduced to the E-Class following a two-year hiatus, the new entry Benz costs a significant $13,000 more than the last-generation E200 but to offset the extra costs is said to boast a higher standard equipment level, offer more space than before on account of its larger body and produce 5kW more under the bonnet.
The E200 largely shares its spec with the more powerful E300, with the base model only missing out on the MBUX Superscreen, plus the heated and ventilated leather seats.
Interestingly, for those who don't fancy overtly sporty looks, Mercedes-Benz has reintroduced its Avantgarde Line exterior design, although the E200 keeps the E300's 20-inch AMG alloy wheels.
For more traditional buyers an Exclusive Line exterior design has already been introduced that, at no extra cost, reunites the E-Class with the famous silver star bonnet emblem, plus more conservative grille with horizontal slates. A smaller set of 19-inch alloy wheels and brown open-pore maple wood trim is also feature.
Extras include a $3500 Comfort Pack that includes heated and ventilated seats that are combined with leather finished in either Macchiato Beige or Tonka Brown.
