2025 Subaru WRX upgraded

Price rises for 2025 WRX bring improved tech levels, as top-spec tS models get cosmetic updates

Subaru Australia has announced updates to its 2025 WRX range including improved technology – but you’ll pay extra for the privilege, by between $500 and $3500 depending on the model grade.

While no power increases have been realised for the iconic hot four-cylinder performance car nor the return of the WRX STI, the launch of the WRX AWD tS Spec B (a name that appears to use every letter the marketing department could find) brings a new halo model to the line-up.

The Japanese performance car, beloved by enthusiasts and suburban speed demons alike, receives several tech upgrades for the 2025 model year, which Subaru claims make it "the most feature-packed WRX of this generation."

New safety features include a Driver Monitoring System that will now assess your driving skills and attention levels across all sedan variants – but not wagons – ready to scold you for looking at your phone or nodding off.

An "Emergency Driving Stop System" has also been added, suggesting Subaru may have finally acknowledged the driving habits of some WRX owners.

The range-topping tS variants get Recaro seats, allowing drivers to be firmly planted while making overtaking decisions and tackling challenging roads, while a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster adds a premium, high-tech feel to the cabin.

Perhaps most crucially for the WRX's target demographic, Solar Orange Pearl paint has been replaced with Galaxy Purple Pearl – because nothing says ‘take me seriously as a performance car enthusiast’ quite like a purple sedan with a massive bonnet scoop.

Another change sees interior roof and pillar trim in Sportswagon variants, altered from white to black, and you can scroll below to see the full list of all changes made to the 2025 Subaru WRX.

Subaru Australia's General Manager Scott Lawrence called the MY25 WRX updates "a compelling evolution," for the head-turning performance car.

“The 2025 WRX range, including the new hero WRX AWD tS Spec B model, delivers the perfect balance of raw performance and outstanding value – and the MY25 range takes that further with a suite of incredible new features.”

MY25 Subaru WRX upgrades:

  • Driver Monitoring System (DMS) now standard across all WRX Sedan variants, featuring:
          • New ‘Emergency Driving Stop System’ added to the suite of EyeSight Driver Assist technologies, now standard across the range
          • 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster standard on all tS variants (WRX AWD tS, WRX AWD tS Spec B and WRX AWD tS Sportswagon)
          • Recaro front seats (eight-way power driver’s seat and four-way manual passenger seat) featured in all WRX Sedan & Sportwagon tS variants
          • Interior roof and pillar trim in WRX Sportswagon variants updated from white to black, matching sedan styling
          • Red ‘WRX’ embroidery on the dashboard for WRX AWD tS Spec B and AWD tS Sport Lineartronic CVT variants
          • Dark grey alloy wheels on WRX AWD tS Sport Lineartronic now match the wheel design featured on the WRX AWD RS manual
          • New exterior colour ‘Galaxy Purple Pearl’ replaces ‘Solar Orange Pearl’ for all WRX Sedan variants.
