The 2026 Honda HR-V range has a new flagship: the e:HEV RS. Priced from $44,400 drive-away, the new addition is defined by its sporty ‘RS’ cosmetic treatment and leverages essentially the same supporting equipment list as the e:HEV L.

As with the bigger CR-V, the HR-V e:HEV RS’ red hero colour is contrast against by a unique black grille, mirrors bumper and doors trims, and complemented by exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels.
The black and red theme continues within the cabin – via the leather upholstery and dashboard stitching – however other exterior colours include Platinum White, Premium White Silver, Slate Grey, Botanical Green and Crystal Black.
Headline equipment on the RS includes dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry and start, heated front seats and steering wheel, powered tailgate, and a 9.0-inch infotainment system featuring Google Built-in, sat-nav, smartphone mirroring, DAB+ digital radio and connected services.

Under the bonnet is the same front-drive e:HEV hybrid powertrain as the lesser variants, with a drive motor, generator motor and 1.5-litre petrol engine totalling 96kW/253Nm and consuming 4.3 litres of fuel per 100km on the combined cycle.
Honda hasn’t specified exactly when the RS will enter local showrooms and its online brochures show it as ‘coming soon’, however it is included in the new-car configurator, below which is a small clause nominating June or July stock arrival depending on the dealership.
As for the HR-V range now being mostly hybrid, Honda Australia is expecting “more than 80 per cent” of its sales to “be hybrid” by the end of the year.
