The 2026 Leapmotor B05 has made its global debut at the Munich motor show this week, offering a first look at the brand’s inbound electric hatchback, due Down Under next year.
Leapmotor has pulled the wraps off its all-new 2026 B05 at the Munich Motor Show, with the sporty electric hatchback set to land on Australian shores in the second half of 2026.
Sporting 19-inch “Swift-Wing” alloy wheels, a bright yellow Renault 5-like paint job and frameless doors, the new hatchback is said to deliver a bold expression of the brand’s performance ambition and cutting-edge innovation and was ‘conceived for those who live life at full speed’.
Powertrain details for the battery-electric hatch are yet to be locked in, however, Leapmotor is promising agile handling from the compact B05, which has been ‘engineered for both performance and stance’, measuring up at 4430mm long, 1880mm wide and 1530mm high.
Along with its 2735mm wheelbase, those dimensions mean the B05 will dwarf what is likely to be its closest rival, the MG4 electric hatch, in every area.
“The B05 is more than a car,” said the brand’s global CEO Zhu Jiangming.
“It’s a statement. It reflects our commitment to innovation, accessibility and empowering the next generation of drivers across Europe and beyond.”
The Leapmotor B05 is slated for a local launch in the second half of 2026, however, key specification and details are yet to be locked in.
The Chinese car-maker also used its presence at the Munich motor show to announce the European launch of the B10 small SUV, which will be available this month.
