2026 Tesla Cybertruck Crossover is the thing of nightmares

Don’t worry, this monster doesn’t exist and will never fit under your bed in the first place

You can’t wonder through any carpark these days without seeing a host of ute-based 4x4 wagons, in fact that very recipe has pretty well become the norm now for cooking up an off-road SUV.

Heavyweights of the class include the Isuzu MU-X (D-Max), Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (Triton), Ford Everest (Ranger) and Toyota Fortuner (Hilux), but what if there was a bigger and possibly even battery-electric offering…

Just when you thought vehicle design couldn’t get any more polarising than the Tesla Cybertruck, these unofficial renders surface online imagining what a Cybertruck ‘crossover’ would look like.

Grot is the term that immediately springs to this author’s mind, but there’s also little doubt this abomination would sell like hotcakes if demand and interest in the regular Cybertruck is anything to go by – provided it retains most of the ute’s key capabilities.

Sharing the same wheelbase and rear overhang as the pick-up, the Cybertruck Crossover is defined by its less tapered roofline and additional row of seating hinted at by the enormous window tracking back from the C-pillar.

We’d hazard a guess the third row of seating would be pretty much on the rear axle, an arrangement that would still leave plenty of boot space for a family grocery shop or a decent sized dog.

Competition for the 2026 Tesla Cybertruck Crossover would primarily revolve around the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Jeep Grand Wagoneer S and Rivian R1S – such enormous vehicles are very much construed to North America and largely things fiction for most Asian and European manufacturers.

Thank the universe this stainless-steel monster is exactly that (fiction)… for now.
