Fresh details of the incoming 2024 Tesla Cybertruck have been leaked ahead of its imminent arrival.
This time, it was the turn of software developer @olympusdev_ on Twitter’s X, who claims to have discovered the Tesla Cybertruck will come with something called Beast Mode.
Beast Mode appears to replicate the Model S Ludicrous Mode by unlocking the vehicle’s maximum performance.
Upon interrogating the car-maker’s app, the developer is said to have found that a triangular speed tunnel graphic appears on the infotainment system when you engage Beast Mode – similar to what’s shown when engaging Ludicrous Mode.

The same software expert also claims to have found that the Cybertruck will be launched in two trims – Base and Luxury.
Tesla has not verified the claims, but it appears the most basic model will ride on smaller wheels, while the Luxury will get big alloy wheels that feature aerodynamic wheel covers.
Other juicy details include the availability of a lightbar accessory on the Cybertruck, made by lighting expert Hella.
Leaked intel has already revealed that the Cybertruck will measure in at 5669mm long, 2030mm wide and 1791mm tall (in the middle setting for the three-mode height-adjustable suspension), riding on a 3632mm wheelbase.
Other key details that have come to light recently include a kerb weight of between 3026kg and 3125kg, depending on the powertrain (dual-motor versus tri-motor), a 4989kg maximum braked towing capacity and a 1134kg payload.
There’s still no word on the production truck’s total power and torque, but the original concept was claimed to launch from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in “as little as 2.9 seconds” and feature a driving range of up to 500 miles (805km).
Questions still hang over the Cybertruck on whether the wedge-shaped ute will comply to Australian Design Rules, and indeed whether it will be produced in right-hand drive, despite Tesla previously taking orders for the ute. (It stopped doing this in May last year.)
It also remains to be seen whether the Cybertruck will still be priced from just $US39,900 ($A60,300).
