2027 Nissan Patrol pricing and specification

Nissan has doubled the size of its Patrol line-up and pushed its flagship deep into premium SUV territory, confirming the all-new seventh-generation Y63 range will span six variants priced from $98,990 to $145,990 plus on-road costs, and will include a new PRO-4X model.

First seen in 2024, officially available to order from today (August 27) and with first deliveries in quarter one 2027, the Y63 has clearly been targeted at its traditional arch-rival the Toyota LandCruiser.

Pricing for the six-model turbo-petrol V6 Y63 range aligns closely with the V6 turbo-diesel Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series and undercuts the Performance Hybrid version. 

And Nissan is hoping for big sales returns from the Y63, which replaces the record-setting Y62 in its line-up.

“The Y62 V8 has set a high [sales] watermark… and obviously, with six variants, our aspiration is to [do better], but time and the market will decide,” Nissan Oceania head of communications Steve Coughlan told carsales.

The incoming Y63 range comprises the Ti, new Ti+, Ti-L, new Ti-L+, new off-road flagship PRO-4X and new luxury Ti-L Reserve. That compares with the outgoing three-model Ti, Ti-L and locally developed Ti-based Warrior line-up.

Nissan’s announcement did not include a second-generation Premcar-developed Patrol Warrior off-roader, but it is understood to be a lock and will be based on the new PRO-4X.

However, the on-road focussed Patrol Nismo is not expected to come to Australia.

Nissan is making a big deal about the entry-level Patrol Ti ($98,990 plus on-road costs) costing just $2450 more than its outgoing Y62 equivalent, although pricing for the old model went up three times since April 2025, including a $5000 rise in August 2025.

At the other end of the spectrum the new $145,990 (plus ORCs) Ti-L Reserve is the most expensive vehicle to ever wear the Nissan badge in Australia, apart from the GT-R supercar.

The entry-level Nissan Patrol Ti is $280 cheaper than the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series GX diesel, while the new Ti-L Reserve flagship is $1850 cheaper than Landcruiser Sahara ZX diesel and $10,750 below Toyota’s hybrid flagship 4WD.

The $145,990 Ti-L Reserve is also $37,950 more expensive than the outgoing $108,040 Ti-L, which was the most expensive regular factory-built Y62 before the $111,600 Premcar-developed Warrior.

The upmarket Patrol will also overlap the Lexus GX, Land Rover Defender and Ineos Grenadier, while the Chinese challenger, the $91,000–$97,990 Denza B8 plug-in hybrid, undercuts the entire Nissan range.

All Y63 Patrols are powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 producing 317kW and 700Nm, increases of 19kW and 140Nm over the outgoing 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V8.

A nine-speed automatic replaces the previous seven-speed transmission, while full-time four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, a driver-controllable electronic locking rear differential and eight drive and terrain modes are standard.

Braked towing capacity increases from 3500kg to 3700kg across the range, giving the Patrol a 200kg headline advantage over the LandCruiser 300 and most other large off-road SUVs.

However, Nissan has not yet released the Y63’s kerb weights, payloads, gross vehicle masses or gross combined mass, which will determine how useful the additional towing capacity is once passengers, luggage and towball download are included.

Nissan says it will make those numbers available once Australian homologation is complete in the coming months.

The Y63’s new ladder-frame chassis is claimed to deliver 40 per cent greater torsional rigidity, while the Y63 adopts electric power steering and multi-link independent suspension.

Electronically controlled dampers are introduced on the Ti-L trim level, while the PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve add height-adjustable adaptive air suspension as well.

The air suspension can raise the vehicle to improve its off-road angles, lower it when parked and automatically drop the ride height above 90km/h to improve aerodynics and reduce fuel consumption, before raising it again when speed falls below 70km/h.

Wheel size ranges from 18-inch for the Ti to 22-inch for the Reserve. All vehicles retain a full-size spare tyre and come with a tyre pressure monitoring system.

One debatable change is the reduction of fuel tank size from 140 litres to 97 litres. Y63s have already been spied at aftermarket specialists such as ARB so solutions will be coming.

The deletion of the Y62’s foot-operated park brake will be less concerning for potential owners.

Every variant offers three seating rows with – Nissan claims – room for eight adults. In other words, the fold-flat third row is not just for kids. Other features include tri-zone climate control, Google built-in to the infotainment system along with Google Gemini AI, connected services and Nissan’s invisible-bonnet camera view.

The connected services that allow for remote vehicle operations and monitoring come with a complimentary two-year subscription, after which owners will need to pay an annual fee that Nissan has yet to announce.

The entry-level 2027 Nissan Patrol Ti and Ti+ use adjoining 12.3-inch displays, while the Ti-L and more expensive variants upgrade to dual 14.3-inch screens, a head-up display and a 12-speaker Klipsch audio system.

Nissan is banging the drum hard about equipment advantages the Y63 has compared to the 300 Series LandCruiser diesel.

For instance, at the entry-level it says the Ti tops the GX with eight seats versus five, 90kW more power versus the diesel (torque is identical at 700Nm), around view monitor and invisible bonnet view versus a reversing camera, five more drive modes, tri-zone versus dual-zone air-con, synthetic leather versus cloth seats, larger screens, more braked towing capacity, rear cross traffic alert and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Further up the range other claimed equipment advantages model-for-model include a head-up display, 12-speaker Klipsch audio, a panoramic moonroof, a movable 360 view camera and adaptive dampers.

The Patrol is protected by a five-year/unlimited km warranty that can be extended to 10 years/300,000km if it is serviced at an authorised Nissan dealer.

Service intervals are 12 months/15,000km and cost $499 each for the first five dealer workshop visits.

This undercuts the LandCruiser, which has to be serviced every six months/10,000km at a cost of $450, equating to $4500 over five years compared with $2495 for the Patrol.

Nissan’s broader Patrol range gives it more opportunities to compete with everything from the mainstream LandCruiser 300 to premium models including the Lexus GX and Land Rover Defender.

However, four of the six Patrol variants are priced above $120,000, placing them in a premium upper-large SUV segment that fell six per cent during the first half of 2026 to just 2309 sales overall.

By contrast, the upper-large SUV segment below $120,000 recovered by 12.6 per cent to 10,458 sales over the same period, helped by stronger LandCruiser demand.

The Patrol also arrives exclusively with petrol power as the wider Australian market shifts towards electrification.

Electrified vehicles accounted for almost half of all new-vehicle sales in July, while important competitors now include the plug-in hybrid Denza B8 and Toyota’s new LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid.

At this stage there are no confirmed plans for an e-Power hybrid or electric Patrol.

However, the Toyota Prado-fighting Terrano PHEV could fill that role if it makes it – as expected – to Australia from China along with the Frontier Pro PHEV dual cab ute.

The Patrol also serves as a much-needed morale boost for Nissan Australia, which is enduring a painful 33 per cent sales slump in 2026.

The expectation is the new Patrol will deliver both sales and some much-needed positive buzz for the brand.
