The fastest utes on the planet could be heading our way – provided RAM’s local operation can make the engineering work. News from RAM Trucks Australia suggest both the rebooted 1500 TRX SRT and the just-unveiled 1500 Rumble Bee are almost certainly Australia-bound, pending some engineering effort to facilitate their conversion to right-hand-drive.

A local spokesperson has hinted the reborn RAM 1500 TRX – now officially known as the RAM 1500 TRX SRT – is almost certainly Australia-bound, with just a few technological hurdles in its path before an official confirmation is made.
“Earlier this year, RAM Trucks USA confirmed the return of the RAM TRX,” RAM Trucks Australia spokesperson Joshua Dowling said at the local launch of the new 1500 Express.
“We said at the time the reborn TRX is under serious consideration for Australia, and that statement remains true today.”
While a precise timeline is still yet to be formalised, and US deliveries of the TRX SRT yet to commence, RAM’s local operation is pulling out the stops to get the TRX back on Aussie soil.

“What we can tell you is that the TRX is more likely to come to Australia than not, but we still have a number of engineering gateways to go through,” Dowling said.
“We are working around the clock with our engineers in the US to make the return of the TRX a reality. We already have a strong customer order bank for the TRX … and that’s before we have even confirmed the TRX is coming, and before we have announced price.”
Those deposit holders are lining up for one hell of a machine. Making 579kW and 922Nm from a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8 and boasting a 0-100km/h time of 3.5 seconds, the 2027 RAM 1500 TRX SRT produces 56kW/40Nm more than its predecessor, which was last offered here in 2024 from $249,950.
The new one is priced at US$99,995, or AU$145,052 at the current exchange rate, but with NVES penalties needing to be paid on the engine’s massive CO2 emissions, don’t expect it to land Down Under near the retail sticker of its predecessor. Will it breach $300K? right now, only RAM Trucks Australia’s execs know.
The news doesn’t stop with the TRX, for the RAM 1500 Rumble Bee is also on the local radar.
“The recently-announced RAM 1500 Rumble Bee muscle truck is also on our wish list,” Dowling said.
“If it were to come to Australia it would come after the TRX because of the engineering work required, but if everything goes our way, it won’t be far behind.
“Australia has a deep history with high-performance utes, and we know a RAM 1500 Rumble Bee will be right at home Down Under.”
Three variants of the 1500 Rumble Bee have been announced for the USA: an entry-spec Rumble Bee with the familiar 295kW/556Nm 5.7-litre HEMI V8, a mid-strength Rumble Bee 392 packing a 350kW/617Nm 6.4-litre HEMI, and the top-dog Rumble Bee SRT, which takes the TRX’s 579kW/922Nm supercharged donk and pairs it with an asphalt-minded chassis to deliver a scarcely-believable 3.4-second 0-100km/h sprint and 11.6-second quarter mile time.
RAM Trucks Australia has yet to decide which of those variants it wants, but its hand is firmly up for at least one.
