RAM Trucks Australia has added a new variant to its 1500 pickup truck range, with the Laramie Night Edition arriving this July to replace the Laramie Sport, which is now on run-out and will be soon discontinued.

The Finer Details
The RAM 1500 is taking a dusky turn with the new Laramie Night Edition, which gains a host of black exterior styling tweaks including black 22-inch alloys, black grille, badging, side mirrors and door handles.
It also adds a sports luxury performance and ‘power bulge’ sports bonnet and retains most of the Laramie Sport’s standard features, including a panoramic sunroof, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, heated and ventilated leather seats, a 14.4-inch infotainment unit and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
Power-operated retractable side steps, unique RamBox storage compartments, a power tailgate, spray-in bed liner and tri-fold tonneau cover are also part of the package.
Under the bonnet, Ram's 3.0-litre 'Hurricane' twin-turbo-petrol inline six-cylinder engine continues, producing 313kW/635Nm and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
It sends power to all four corners via an on-demand four-wheel-drive system.
The Road Ahead
While the arrival of the Laramie Night Edition spells the end for the regular Laramie Sport, which is now on run-out from $139,950 drive-away until all sold, Ford's F-150 is charging hard in Australia's $100K-plus full-size ute segment.
The entire segment grew 11.5 per cent to 4898 units in the first half of 2026. A cleared supply backlog helped Ford surge 92.5 per cent year-to-date to 1049 units, now just 33 units behind the segment-leading RAM 1500.
But demand for the 1500 has cooled, down 21.3 per cent year-to-date to 1082 units. Its heavy-duty range is however, picking up the slack – the 2500 jumped 59.1 per cent.
