RAM Trucks Australia has confirmed the return of its supercharged V8 performance ute, with the RAM 1500 TRX SRT due in local showrooms in the first half of 2027.

The Finer Details
The MY27 RAM 1500 TRX SRT will arrive in Australia at $259,950 plus on-road costs (ORCs), with metallic paint adding $950 (RRP). That is $10,000 more than the $249,950 asked for the run-out Final Edition and $60,000 above the $199,950 launch price of the 2022 TRX.
RAM says the new truck runs an uprated version of the supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8 and describes it as the most powerful engine in the segment, but has not confirmed Australian outputs.
In the US, the revived TRX SRT has been rated at 579kW/922Nm (777hp/680lb-ft), up from the 523kW/882Nm produced by the first-generation truck in Australian tune.
The confirmation follows carsales reporting earlier this month that RAM Trucks Australia was already laying the groundwork for a Hemi V8 return, with government homologation documents pointing to a 6.4-litre V8 in the heavy-duty RAM 2500 Warlock.
“We know there is a lot of passion for the TRX in Australia, which is why we have worked hard to secure production out of the US for our market,” RAM Trucks Australia manager Jeff Barber said.
“Supply of the new TRX will initially be restricted because demand is off the charts in the US, however the factory has been incredibly supportive of the Australian market and we are pleased to confirm the TRX is coming back.”
The brand says several hundred Australians have already attempted to lodge pre-orders since the TRX was confirmed for North America in January.
Almost 1000 first-generation examples were sold across Australia and New Zealand between mid-2022 and late 2025.
Six colours have been listed for the MY27 truck, subject to availability: Bright White, Diamond Black, Forged Blue, Molten Red, Serrano Green and Spitfire Orange.
The Road Ahead
First customer deliveries are due in the first half of 2027, with technical information and the full equipment list to be announced closer to local arrival.
With allocations restricted from the outset and the order bank already stirring, the pointy end of the queue looks likely to be settled well before the first trucks land.
