Aston Martin designs a post-pandemic world luxury home compound

Created in partnership with S3 Architecture, this first of its kind micro-compound luxury residential real estate development by Aston Martin, has James Bond secret country escape written all over it.

The interiors have been meticulously designed by Aston Martin and include some of the brand's signature styling and materials including wood, leather and metals which integrate into the architecture and furnishings.

The Aston Martin development is located on 55 acres of land in Rhinebeck, New York, around 90 minutes north of Manhattan. The main house spans over 555 square metres and includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two half baths and a very nice three car Gallery Garage which can be viewed through a glass window from the living room.

If you’re feeling less James Bond and more Tony Starke, the home's study is known as the Office Lair and has views of subterranean rock which the house is built into. According to the Sylvan Rock website, “This is your command central for ruling your remote empire.” The Lair comes with an integrated built-in custom-designed cabinetry and a double-sided fireplace bringing some warmth to the space for late-night business calls or plans for world domination.

Aside from the main house, the compound also includes three guest 'pods' which can be used for visitors who may be staying for an extended lockdown period or holiday. Alternatively, these pods can be used for any purpose such as another home office, for homeschooling and remote learning, or just an excuse to get away from the family for a bit. As the website puts it, “Three remote guest houses allow guests to connect with nature while giving the residence owner privacy from even the best of friends.” Read into that what you will.

You can’t have a remote luxury resort-like compound designed by Aston Martin without your own pool and health and wellness wing. Very 2020. This area of the house includes a treatment room for at-home aesthetic spa and medical treatments (DIY Botox and haircuts), a home gym, hot tub, sauna, air filtration and an on-property food garden so you can grow your own produce and avoid the supermarket panic buying. There is also a small lake and very cool treehouse on the property too. Sylvan Rock is designed to be sustainable living through the building methods, materials and technology used.
