BMW Australia has announced value-added limited-edition M Sport packages for a range of models, as part of a ‘Festival of M’ promotion that ends of March 31.
Headlining the offer is the BMW X5 xDrive30d M Sport Limited Edition, which offers cosmetic upgrades including an M Sport exterior body kit, 20-inch M double-spoke alloy wheels, M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles and M Sport chromed exhaust outlet.
Inside, the limited-edition X5 M Sport diesel adds Navigation Professional, voice control, a rear-view camera with top view, electric seat adjustment, automatic tailgate, anti-dazzle exterior mirrors and bi-Xenon headlights with washers and High Beam Assist.
Priced at $99,990 drive-away ($7390 more than the standard X5 30d’s list price of $92,600, before on-road costs), BMW says the M-fettled six-cylinder X5 diesel delivers more than $15,000 of additional value to customers.
The keenly priced X5 limited-edition arrives as BMW prepares a third-generation X5 for release late this year. Despite being six years old, the MkII X5 remained Australia’s top-selling large luxury SUV last year, narrowly outselling the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class 2778 to 2729.
At the same time, BMW is offering its popular M Sport package – which is fitted to nearly half of all BMWs sold in Australia - at no extra cost on 5 Series and Z4 models, as well as the M Sport ‘Plus’ package at no cost on the 1 and 3 Series Coupe and Convertible range, representing between $2500 and $7900 of extra value.
The M Sport Plus package for the 1 and 3 Series models comprises M Sport suspension, an M leather steering wheel, M Aerodynamics package and BMW Individual High Gloss shadow line and anthracite headlining (for coupe variants) from the existing M Sport package.
In addition, the package includes unique 18-inch M alloys in Ferric Grey, chrome-plated ‘edition’ door sills and - when ordered with Dakota leather black, which combines velour floor mats with blue leather piping - Royal Blue contrast trim stitching.
Unique to the limited-edition 1 Series Coupe and Convertible models is Aluminium Glacier Silver interior trim, a high-gloss black grille, blackened tail-lights and the addition of Vermillion Red and Carbon Black exterior paint colours (although metallic still costs extra).
Meantime, the M Sport Plus package for the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible is differentiated by Aluminium Silver Dark interior trim, a chromed grille, sports seats, stainless steel pedals, black wing mirror caps and free metallic paint.
All offers apply to vehicles ordered before March 31 - excluding fleet, government and rental buyers – and cannot be combined with any other offer.
