BMW Group yourMelbourne challenges high school students to rethink future mobility

Kids are our future and hopefully they can solve our impending future mobility challenges.

BMW Group Australia has launched yourMelbourne, a Victoria wide competition which hopes to inspire and educate high school students about what the future of mobility could look like.

The competition is hoping to encourage greater interest and participation in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) industry jobs for high school students as they decide on their future career paths.

For the competition, students are asked to submit their vision of the perfect future mobility scenario for Melbourne, focusing on one of four topics: city design, transport infrastructure, sustainable mobility or transport technology. And most importantly, how would they fix the problem.

Entrants can submit their visions either as a written submission of 800-2000 words, sketches, illustrations, a video or multimedia submission. Time to get the thinking caps on and start creating.

The winners will be announced at the BMW Group yourMelbourne Festival on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the company’s Melbourne HQ. With the winning entries of each category to receive a $5000 education grant and a six month loan of a BMW or MINI plug-in hybrid vehicle for their family. How cool!
