BMW X1 made from LEGO

BMW takes a cruise around the 'block', commissioning this work of art for a good cause

No, BMW hasn't fired another design chief... This is in fact a BMW X1 made from LEGO blocks, which was the handiwork of some 800 German kids.

Some might argue that it encourages young kids to improve the design of the BMW X1, but it's all for a cause. BMW tasked the ankle biters to create a BMW X1 from building blocks in order to raise charity for Children's World "Die Arche" in Munich.

For every LEGO block used, BMW donated money to the Die Arche foundation, and with about 165,000 blocks used to create the angular vehicle -- complete with matching 'alloy' wheels -- the young artists would have raised quite a bit of cashola.

The vehicle will be on display at BMW Welt, or BMW World, in Munich from November 25.
