Brabus 800 XLP Superblack ute revealed

German Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus has released a new Superblack version of the 2022 Brabus 800 Adventure XLP that hands even wilder looks and performance to the already-unhinged 4x4 ute.

As part of the Superblack upgrades, the stretched ute that's based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 gets Brabus' Widestar body kit with unique grille, bumpers, bonnet vents, side steps and wider front and rear wings.

Even the finishers for the side-exit exhausts are made of carbon-fibre.

There's also a front winch, roof rack with extra LED light bar and a full-size spare wheel mounted on the rear bed.

The Superblack version rides on huge 22-inch rims that have been created for "heavy-duty off-road use", Brabus says, and are wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tyres.

Under the bonnet, the G 63's 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 carries over but has been tuned to 588kW and 1000Nm of torque.

Despite a kerb weight that must be nearing 3000kg, Brabus claims its 800 XLP Superblack can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds while top speed is limited to 210km/h.

Like the regular Brabus 800 Adventure XLP, the Superblack benefits from new suspension components that include redesigned subframes, suspension links and titanium-coated coil-overs, plus Brabus' own portal axles that enable its lofty jacked-up ride height.

Within, the all-black theme continues with black leather seats, door cards and liberal use of carbon-fibre trim dotted around the luxurious cabin.

On sale now, Brabus says it will take six-to-12 months before owners will take delivery.

There's no word on how much the 2022 Brabus 800 XLP Superblack will cost, but a used version with 1000km on the clock is currently for sale for €726,259.38 ($A1.13 million), which suggests a healthy premium over the standard 800 Adventure XLP that's priced from €389,831 ($A608,000).
