Brabus enhancements for C-Class Wagon

Renowned tuning firm Brabus has announced a series of new aftermarket items for the S205 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate, the combined effect of which lends the family wagon the kind of presence that would turn Darth Vader green with envy.

Pictured here is an example of the relatively new-to-market wagon complete with AMG Line styling, and additional Brabus features like an exclusive front spoiler in Titanium Grey. Brabus claims the spoiler is aerodynamically functional, reducing lift at high speeds. At the rear, the car sports a bumper insert with a mock diffuser in a contrasting colour to coordinate with the Brabus quad-tipped exhaust system, which is finished in chrome.

Brabus Monoblock alloy wheels range in size from 18 to 20-inch diameter, and the ones fitted to the vehicle in the picture are finished in black with titanium-coloured pinstripes and measure 8.5Jx20 (front) and 9.5Jx20 (rear). Brabus can supply tyres to suit – 225/35 ZR20 front and 255/30 ZR 20 rear – from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama.

Serious underpinnings for the car include coil-over suspension offering adjustable ride height to suit individual customers, and dampers with 10-stage adjustable compression and rebound rates. For the car pictured, the ride height has been lowered 30mm. Vehicles with Benz's Airmatic suspension installed can also be fitted with an electronic control module supplied by Brabus to adjust the ride height.

Engine tuning kits – for both petrol and diesel engines – improve OEM outputs by up to 30kW and 50Nm, and can be fitted within an hour. For the C 220 BlueTec model, the power is raised 26kW and torque is lifted to 50Nm, for a new 0-100km/h time of 7.1 seconds. The company claims that its ECO PowerXtra D3 kit leaves the C 220 compliant with the Euro 6 emissions standard and will not affect vehicle reliability. To that end, the company offers a three-year, 100,000km warranty, stipulating only that the owner uses a particular brand of high-performance lubricant.

For the C 250 model, power is up 23kW (to 173kW) and torque gains 50Nm (to 550Nm) for a 0-100km/h time of 6.4 seconds.
