Chery Australia has released key specifications for its upcoming Stockman dual-cab ute, confirming outputs of 350kW and 800Nm from its new diesel-electric Super Hybrid powertrain. The newcomer will enter Australia's fiercely contested ute market with a 3495kg braked towing capacity, up to 96km of electric driving range and a trio of locking differentials ahead of customer deliveries beginning on 1 February 2027.
The Chery Stockman is shaping up as one of the most ambitious entrants into Australia's dual-cab ute segment, with the Chinese brand revealing substantially more detail about its upcoming diesel-electric workhorse.
At the heart of the Stockman is a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain paired with a 34kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, producing a combined 350kW and 800Nm. Chery claims the combination delivers the long-distance touring ability associated with diesel power alongside the efficiency and refinement of electrification.
The all-wheel-drive ute is also claimed to offer up to 96km of electric-only driving range under WLTP testing, while an 80L fuel tank is designed to support extended touring and towing duties.

Capability appears to be a major focus. Chery has confirmed a 3495kg braked towing capacity, placing the Stockman among the segment's heavy hitters, while unbraked towing capacity is rated at 750kg.
Off-road credentials include front, centre and rear differential locks, more than 247mm of ground clearance, all-terrain tyres, double-wishbone front suspension and a traditional leaf-spring rear arrangement.
The Stockman is also physically substantial, measuring 5450mm long, 2010mm wide and 1890mm high, with a 3250mm wheelbase. Its cargo tub measures 1560mm long, 1560mm wide and 500mm deep.

Inside, buyers will find a technology-focused cabin featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 14-speaker audio system.
Chery has also confirmed the ute will be equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
The latest specification announcement follows the recent opening of the Australian reservation program, which confirmed that the Stockman's local arrival has shifted into early 2027.
The release of detailed performance and capability figures gives buyers a clearer picture of where Chery intends to position the Stockman in Australia's hotly contested ute market.
While pricing, model grades and equipment levels remain under wraps, the newly released specifications suggest Chery is targeting customers seeking strong towing performance, genuine off-road ability and electrified efficiency in a single package.
With customer deliveries scheduled to commence from 1 February 2027, further details including pricing and final model line-up are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
