Deal hunter: Longer warranty and bonus for Hyundai Elantra

Discounts and on-road costs paid for Ford Endura and Mitsubishi Triton too

The best laid run-out plans go oft astray when everyone’s locked in at home and people just aren’t spending money on new cars, so stocks of the Hyundai Elantra Go remain available, even with its i30 sedan replacement now on sale too.

Hyundai is currently offering the Elantra Go for just $23,490 on the road. That’s a discount of $790, quite apart from the statutory charges that are also absorbed by Hyundai. While that’s an enticing offer in itself, Hyundai is also throwing in free steak knives, in the form of a seven-year warranty – two years of extra cover – and a $1000 bonus. With ‘steak knives’ like that, you really need to get in for your chop.

Need something a little larger for your growing family? The Ford Endura ST-Line is selling for $52,990 drive-away, a discount of $1000 off the manufacturer’s retail list price and the stamp duty, registration and compulsory third-party insurance all paid by Ford. While the Endura has been dropped from the local lineup, due to circumstances beyond the control of Ford Australia, the Endura remains a lot of car for the money.

Finally, for commercial-vehicle buyers, the Mitsubishi Triton GLS 4x4 dual-cab with manual transmission is currently selling for $44,490 – $1750 below the usual manufacturer’s retail list price. Mitsubishi is also absorbing the on-road costs for a further saving worth thousands.
