A genuine factory accessory pack has been released for the Ford Everest Trend, providing the heavy-duty SUV with more off-road capability and style.
Priced at $2000 including fitment at a Ford dealership, the Ford Everest BaseCamp accessories pack is claimed to add $6000 worth of extra features.
The list includes a bunch of worthwhile additions for those heading bush, including a 76mm diameter black front nudge bar, a genuine Ford snorkel, genuine Ford bonnet protector, Ford-licensed LED light bar, black roof-mounted carry bars, Pioneer platform and Sunseeker awning.
Completing the package is a genuine Ford tow kit (rated to 3000kg for 3.2L and 3100kg for Bi-Turbo variants), which itself is a $1000 option on all but top-shelf Titanium versions of the Ranger-based SUV.
The BaseCamp pack is available on with the Fiord Everest Trend, priced from $56,490, complementing its off-road specifications including 225mm of ground clearance and 800mm wading depth.
Naturally, it doesn’t affect Ford’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre factory new-vehicle warranty or capped-price service program including $299 per A and B logbook services for the first four years/60,000km at 15,000km/12-month intervals.
The Ford Service Benefits program also includes a free loan car while servicing, auto club membership with roadside assist, and sat-nav map updates.
Based on the same Australian-developed T6 platform that underpins Ford’s top-selling Ranger, the Everest is available with five and seven seats and in both rear- and four-wheel drive configurations. Two turbo-diesel powertrains are offered: 3.2-litre five-cylinder with six-speed auto or 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 10-speed auto.
The latest MY20 Ford Everest line-up – including a new Sport variant -- was released earlier this month, following the fitment of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as standard across the MY19.75 range released in July.
Along with the Ranger, Endura SUV and Transit van, 2.0-litre versions of the Everest were subject to an official stop-sale order last month due to fuel-injection issues.
“We know that Everest owners have a keen sense of adventure, and the off-road, off-the-beaten track capability engineered into the Everest 4WD is something we know customers love about their vehicle,” said Ford Australia and New Zealand president and CEO Kay Hart.
“Now, with the Everest BaseCamp accessories pack, we’re making it easier for customers to get adventure-ready features in a convenient, affordable way to make those weekend escapes a reality.”
