Mercedes-Benz has released a new rendering that's claimed accurately previews the car it plans to officially unveil next week at the Frankfurt motor show.
The Concept EQ A is set to be revealed on Tuesday September 12 and has been created to take on both the Chevrolet Bolt, recently revealed Nissan LEAF and the Tesla Model 3.
Set to share the Frankfurt stage with the Generation EQ SUV that made its public debut at the Paris show a year ago, the new pure-electric hatch is almost certain to be based on the same platform and borrow its electric motors and powerful lithium-ion batteries for the larger SUV.
Expect the range of the new Concept EQ A to be around 500km between re-charges.
On sale around 2020, the Concept EQ A will come with wireless inductive charging and Benz' latest autonomous driving features that could include a summon feature.
It's not just electric cars EQ plans to offer. Mercedes-Benz new sub-brand also wants to sell customers wall-box chargers, home-based lithium-ion storage units and even establish itself as a pure-electric ride share provider.
EQ revealed its car-share plans when it recently revealed the smart vision EQ fortwo concept that will make its public debut at Frankfurt.
