GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Volkswagen can't stop teasing I.D. Vizzion

Another day, another tease for VW's fully autonomous luxury people-mover

Volkswagen has released another short clip of the I.D Vizzion concept ahead of its launch at the Geneva motor show on March 6.

This time round the short 13-second teaser shows off 50 per cent of the I.D Vizzion's side profile.

Making it look more like a wedge-shaped sports sedan than its intended role as a people-mover, the latest tease is the most revealing yet.

From previous teases and a slow drip-feed of information from the German car-maker we already know the concept that previews the fourth member of Volkswagen's pure-electric I.D. model family will measure in at 5.1-metres long and have no conventional steering wheel or pedals.

Instead, its passengers will communicate directly with the car's 'digital chauffeur' hologram by either natural speaking or gesture controls.

Beneath the skin, motive force comes from two electric motors that produce 225kW. This provides for a top speed of around 180km/h and a decent range of 665km, thanks to its powerful 111kWh lithium-ion battery.

After Volkswagen's declaration that it will launch 20 I.D. models or derivatives by 2025 it's thought the Vizzion could one day join the production versions of the I.D. hatch, I.D. Crozz SUV, I.D. Buzz minivan and I.D. sedan.

The first to launch will be the Golf-sized pure-electric I.D. hatch that's due in 2020.
