Nissan has released its Pulsar SSS Heritage Edition in a special livery to commemorate the 30th anniversary of George Fury taking pole position at Bathurst in a Bluebird Turbo.
And the company is inviting viewers of Channel Seven's broadcast of this weekend's Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 to enter a competition, with the limited edition model the prize.
In addition to its commemorative paint job, the Heritage Edition SSS features unique floor mats/head rests and interior badging. The 40 buyers will also receive a Nissan Motorsport heritage team shirt.
Just two colours will be available – Polar White or Brilliant Silver – but there will be a choice of either the six-speed manual or Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Deliveries will commence from later this month, and drive-away prices are set at $28,990 for the manual, or $31,631 for the CVT.
"Nissan has a proud motorsport heritage in Australia, particularly at Bathurst," said Nissan Australia MD Richard Emery.
"We have been really pleased with the response to our Bathurst heritage campaign to date. Australian motorsport fans genuinely appreciate the history of the sport and legends such as George Fury.
"An extension of this program is the Nissan Pulsar SSS Heritage Edition. It is fitting that this limited edition turbo hatch carries the same colours at the Nissan Bluebird Turbo, the first turbocharged car to claim outright pole position for the Bathurst 1000."
