For many, it was a parent’s car in which they learned to drive, for others it was their first set of wheels, and some have even turned them into racing cars.
In some way, shape or form, and with some breaks, the Nissan Pulsar has been part of the new-car landscape since the late 1970s.

A rethink saw a Thailand-built Pulsar re-enter the Australian new-car marketplace in January 2013 as a sedan and in May 2013 as a hatch.
Although a decent small car, the Nissan Pulsar never reached the popularity of the Mazda3 or Toyota Corolla.
The Nissan Pulsar was discontinued as a model in the Australian marketplace in 2016.
The latest C13 generation of Nissan Pulsar was axed in Europe in 2018 but is still sold in China.
The Nissan Pulsar has been sold in numerous generations in Australia.
In its most recent sedan and hatch forms, the Nissan Pulsar sat in the small car segment and was comparable in size to other small cars including the Mazda3, Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Golf.
For all intents and purposes, the Nissan Pulsar was replaced in the Nissan Australia line-up by the Nissan Qashqai crossover.
There are still no clear plans for a conventional hatchback or small sedan replacement for the Nissan Pulsar Down Under.
