Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity will be rolled out across the Honda HR-V and Jazz ranges for the first time in Australia this month.
The Japanese car-maker has confirmed a new 7.0-inch touch-screen will grace the compact SUV and light hatchback as part of a MY21 model update due for imminent release, mirroring the systems already in use in the Civic and CR-V.
The new technology comes at a cost, with the Honda Jazz list price spiking by $500 across all grades and the HR-V climbing between $500 and $1150.
As such, the 2021 Honda Jazz now starts at $15,490 plus on-road costs, while the 2021 Honda HR-V starts at $25,490 plus ORCs.
The new infotainment system brings voice recognition and phone mirroring functionality via WebLink.
“With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard across the range for both HR-V and Jazz, and a well-earned reputation for versatility with their clever Magic Seats, these two popular nameplates continue to deliver an appealing package for buyers looking for a compact car or small SUV,” Honda Australia said in a press release.
The Jazz update will likely be the last for Australia, after Honda confirmed earlier this week that its smallest model would be phased out within 18 months while it adopted a new agency-based sales model with fixed pricing and a smaller range of vehicles.
