The 2026 Honda Super-ONE has launched in Australia, bringing a different approach to the growing affordable EV segment. Rather than chasing headline range figures, Honda has focused on driver engagement, packing its smallest EV with simulated gearshifts, synthetic engine sounds and a dedicated BOOST Mode. Honda says the model has already attracted almost 7000 expressions of interest locally, with all vehicles allocated for 2026 delivery sold before launch.

Honda's smallest EV measures just 3582mm long, 1573mm wide and 1616mm high, making it one of the smallest passenger vehicles on sale in Australia.
Despite its compact footprint, the Super-ONE retains Honda's Magic Seats system and offers up to 967L of cargo space with the rear seats folded.
Power comes from a 29.6kWh lithium-ion battery driving the front wheels. Maximum output rises to 70kW in BOOST Mode, while torque is rated at 162Nm. Honda claims energy consumption of 121Wh/km and a driving range of up to 202km on the WLTP test cycle or 253km under the NEDC standard.

The Super-ONE's main point of difference is its driver-focused technology. BOOST Mode introduces simulated gearshifts via steering wheel paddles, accompanied by synthetic powertrain sounds and unique instrument lighting.
Honda says the system is designed to deliver a more interactive driving experience than a conventional EV.
Standard equipment includes a 9.0-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Honda SENSING safety technology is also standard, adding adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and collision mitigation braking.
Honda says the Super-ONE has generated almost 7000 expressions of interest in Australia, exceeding the response seen for both the Civic Type R and Prelude. The initial allocation earmarked for 2026 delivery has already been sold.
First Australian deliveries begin today, 1 October 2026, with Honda now taking orders for later production. Early demand suggests the Super-ONE could become one of Honda's most sought-after niche models, despite its modest range and compact dimensions.
