Hot deals: Clearance models and extra kit

It's another week of '06 model clearances from a number of the major manufacturers

HOT DEALS

We've tracked down several new manufacturer offers that might be of interest to you. Some are straight cash savings, others spruik the usual "added features at no extra cost". These offers mostly go until 28th Feb. We're only going on what the manufacturers are saying, so check with them for details.

Please note that CarPoint/Carsales only details information that's been made publicly available by the manufacturers -- we can't vouch for them. Listed below are some of the deals we've identified for new car buyers.

Kia's grand slam savings
Sponsor of the Australian Open tennis, Kia Motors, as with most major makes, is running a series of specials on '06 plated vehicles. A free luxury pack is offered with the Carnival automatic ($34,990), which includes side and curtain SRS airbags, leather steering wheel and gear knob, rain-sensing wipers -- $1500 worth of extras. The frugal Rio is being offered at a discounted $14,990, whilst the Magentis has an extended five-year, 150,000km factory warranty. There's also a $4000 saving on the 3.5-litre, V6 Sorento -- only until 28th February.

Three years service, two years insurance for 3
Until February 28 participating BMW dealers are offering three years/60,000km free servicing and two years free BMW Insurance on 3 Series Sedan and Touring models. The offer is based on the purchase of a new 3 Series Sedan, (excluding 335i model variant), or 323i Touring manufactured in 2006 from participating BMW Dealers. Offer applies while stocks last on vehicles ordered and delivered between January 25 and February 28 2007.

Nissan deals, old and new
Nissan is offering specials on a number of old and new models: The 1.8-litre Tiida manual starts from $17,990 and includes aircon, dual airbags, CD, $1000 free fuel, and the 2006 3.0-litre manual Patrol ST, starting at $49,990, is packed with $2300 of extras including rego and compulsory third party insurance on the ST model, bullbar, driving lights and towbar on all others.

Toyota offers 'everyday' value for everyone
Toyota is discounting two of its 2006 models until February 28. At $34,990 the 2.4-litre Camry Sportivo comes with standard features- sports suspension, dual front SRS airbags, 17-inch alloys and "active braking with intelligence". The Kluger CVX V6 with auto is going for $44,990. Standard features on the Kluger include dual front SRS airbags, ABS, AWD, climate control air-conditioning, cruise control, five-speed auto, and alloys.
Toyota is also continuing its "everyday great value" campaign on the Corolla Ascent manual hatch and sedan (still $19,990), which comes with standard aircon, CD player, front airbags, and front power windows. Slightly cheaper at $19,920, the 2006 HiLux 4x2 single cab, cab chassis Work Mate also has front airbags, power steering, and CD player, but no aircon or power windows. You be the judge.

Alfa Romeo demo deal
Factory demonstrator Alfa 156 vehicles are being sold from $38,990 for the JTS manual sedan. The V6 automatic starts at $45,990, and the Selespeed Sportwagon at $44,990. With standard features including full leather interior, ABS, cruise control and 17-inch alloys, this offer is available "while stocks last".

HondaONE Owners' Club
HondaONE is the name of Honda Australia's official online owners' club. It's free to join, and apart from the obvious direct marketing opportunity for Honda, it keeps an online service history of your vehicle, and emails you with service reminders and special offers. Progressive, sure... expect the others to provide same in the near future.
