Hybrid 2025 Leapmotor C10 REEV arrives with 1150km range

First hybrid from Chinese brand primed to offer an enormous fuel range

The 2025 Leapmotor C10 REEV will be priced from $45,900 drive-away when it lands in Australian showrooms this month, offering buyers up to 145km of EV driving without any of the anxiety associated with electric cars.

In total, the Leapmotor C10 REEV will cover up to 1150km thanks to its small 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol plug-in hybrid system that uses the internal combustion engine as generator.

Priced $1600 less than the all-electric version of the C10, the new REEV features a 158kW electric motor that drives the rear wheels, drawing current from a 28.4kWh battery.

The 1.5-litre petrol only tops up the battery and has no mechanical connection to the wheels.

Thanks to its zero-emission range of 145km – that has yet to be officially confirmed for our market – on the lenient NEDC test cycle, the official fuel consumption is rated at just 0.9L/100km while CO2 emissions are rated at a low 21g/km.

Like the C10 EV, the new range-extender can be topped-up using both AC and DC power, the latter providing a 30-80 per cent top-up in 18 minutes.

For the Australian market, the C10 REEV will match the electric version and be offered in Style and Design trims.

Headline safety features meantime include AEB, adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, driver attention monitor, lane-keep assist, cross traffic alert, exit warning and a 360-degree parking and rear parking sensors.

The C10 REEV Design ($49,990) adds 20-inch alloys, an electric tailgate, rear privacy glass, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, an LED rear light bar, air quality sensor, faux leather seats and ambient lighting.
