INEOS confirms “good” Australian Grenadier stock

INEOS Automotive Australia has confirmed it has healthy stock levels of its Grenadier off-road SUV and Quartermaster pick-up truck following this week’s announcement of a global production pause.

As reported yesterday, one of the brand’s key suppliers has run into some financial strife and cannot provide a certain trim INEOS deems crucial to the vehicles, forcing a temporary shutdown that could stretch into early 2025.

The brand’s local operation however confirmed to carsales it has “good stock levels of ready-to-go Grenadier and Quartermaster models available”, suggesting Australia could avoid at least some of the inevitable delivery time blow-outs.

“Our retail partners will be able to assist customers in locating matching and/or similarly suitable vehicles to fulfil demand during this time,” a spokesperson said.

“Customers with existing orders which will be delayed are being contacted over the next few days.”

The spokesperson wouldn’t be drawn on forecasting any potential waiting times, but insisted everything was being done to try and mitigate the situation.

“This pause is extremely frustrating … we are leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to get our manufacturing back up and running, to catch up with demand as swiftly as we can,” they said.

“At the moment, we are operating a conservative scenario which would see us get back to full production rates in early 2025.”

The Grenadier went into series production in October 2022 with Australian vehicles rolling off the assembly line as of January 2023.

Local orderbooks for the Quartermaster opened in July that same year.
