Jaguar not for sale... for now
Jaguar for sale? Ford says 'we'll get back to you...'Ford Motor Co. has no plans to sell its Jaguar brand at the moment, but that could change in the future, a top company executive said.
Lewis Booth, chairman of Ford of Europe and vice president of the company's Premier Automotive Group, told industry analysts in a webcast from Paris that Jaguar's status could change as the company goes through a strategic review of all its assets.
"It's not for sale at the moment," Booth said. "If that changes we'll come back to you."
Asked if that could change, Booth said anything is possible.
"Everything's on the table," he said.
His remarks are consistent with previous Ford statements on the possible sale of Jaguar and its other Premier Automotive Group brands, Volvo, Land Rover and Aston-Martin.
The company announced in August that it had placed the Aston-Martin specialty sports car brand up for sale.
When Ford announced its second restructuring plan of the year earlier this month, industry analysts questioned why the sale of the money-losing Jaguar was not included.
