Jaguar sleighs it

Jet-powered Jaguar F-Sleigh adds a little merriment to festive season

Luxury car-makers often dabble in high-end bicycles, time piece and even protective gear design, but it's not often you see an aerodynamic sled.

Putting Rudolf the reindeer out to pasture, the Jaguar F-Sleigh doesn't need magic to fly – it's got a pair of jet engines to propel it to warp speed, which have been lovingly integrated into the F-TYPE-inspired design.

It also gets Jaguar's trademark 'Growler' engraved into a red nose -- naturally an F-TYPE inspired front-end -- and the long sled even benefits from a large cargo partition, where Santa would presumably toss his sack.

This snow-sleigh would be interesting to see built (although we're not putting our hands up to pilot it -- where's the steering mechanism?!?), but the design sketches are unlikely to result in a practical product.

Instead the design has been borne out in the form of an ice sculpture to promote Jaguar Land Rover's 2016 collection of merchandise.

Basically anything luxurious and overpriced, such as luggage, apparel, fragrances and what not are offered with Jaguar and Land Rover branding, aimed at discerning buyers.

But it has to be said that the Land Rover Defender pedal car for kids earns the company kudos for attention to detail.
