The Aventador Miura Homage making its debut at this weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK pays tribute to the company's iconic Miura of 1966.
Cashed-up buyers who remember the Miura with fondness will welcome the limited-production Aventador, which is powered by a V12 mounted in the mid/rear location – just like the Miura.
But they had better get their skates on if they're keen to get behind the wheel of the Aventador Miura Homage; Lamborghini is building just 50 units of the commemorative car for worldwide consumption. And most are already sold...
Developed by Lamborghini's Ad Personam studio, the special Aventador features a singular colour above and a coordinating colour for the lower flanks and door sills. Six colours are available, including three that were originally offered for the Miura as well: Rosso Arancio Miura (solid color); Verde Scandal (solid); and Blu Tahiti (metallic).
The Aventador rides on 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) Dione alloy wheels, offered in either matt silver or gold finish. Other elements distinguishing the Aventador Miura from the standard Aventador include a badge on the side and black Lamborghini legend on the rear. A limited-edition build plate is fixed inside the car.
Buyers can order the car in either Nero Ade or Terra Emilia leather, each with coordinated stitching and complemented by carbon-fibre trim. A 'Miura 50th' logo is stitched to the upper part of the seats in gold or silver, depending on the external colour scheme. Lamborghini lettering is embroidered in the leather dashboard.
Power is rated at 522kW, courtesy of the 6.5-litre V12, which also develops 690Nm. The engine's output is enough to sling the car from 0 to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds – and on to a top speed of 350km/h.
