Lamborghini courtesy cars for hotel guests

If you've ever been waiting in a hotel lobby for a taxi that just won't arrive, this next gig might pique your interest, as Waldorf Astoria offering Lamborghin Huracan drives from some of its premium hotels.

The alliance between the Waldorf Astoria hotel chain, which has 27 hotels globally, and exotic Italian car maker Lamborghini bequeaths guests with a V10-powered Lamborghini Huracan for up to 30 minutes on proscribed drives.

These have been developed to coincide with major events such as the US Open tennis grand slam in New York and the Paris motor show.

The idea is not new, as hotels continue to go above and beyond to deliver guests special experiences, anticipating positive word-of-mouth promotion.

Guests who check in to the Waldorf Astoria hotels can sign up for driving experiences in either Huracan LP 580-2 or Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder Lamborghini – that is, coupe or convertible.

Stefano Domenicali, Lamborghini CEO, sound very pleased with the pairing, as it may see well-heeled customers – and potential buyers new to the brand – hopping into Lambo's latest exotics.

"The Waldorf Astoria hotels and resorts' properties provide the ideal backdrop for our exceptional supercars, offering guests the freedom to test drive at their leisure," said the Italian Lamborghini boss.

The drive routes take hotel guests along "iconic roadways within each destination" says the company. And it's not the first time the hotel chain has done this, offering Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C and Porsche GT3 cars to guests in the past.

And if you don't fancy taking a $400,000 exotic for a cruise, there's always the virtual tour via Gear VR Oculus goggles on site. And for the rest of us there's a 3D experience of the drive on Facebook.

Despite ongoing reports, motoring.com.au couldn't confirm reports of Best Western motels offering Holden Camira courtesy cars to loyalty members.
