Lamborghini has begun teasing an outlandish new hypercar that it will reveal next month at the Frankfurt motor show.
Previewed in a single darkened image, Lamborghnini's new concept sports the same thin Y-shaped LED running lights that adorned the face of the jaw-dropping Lamborghini Terzo Millenio concept that was unveiled last year.
This has led some to suggest that the hypercar primed for Frankfurt could be a closer-to-production version of the pure-electric Terzo Millenio.
If so, the new concept will once again trade the Aventador's naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 for four in-wheel electric motors, all fed by MIT-developed supercapacitor energy storage tech.
Another theory is that the new concept will introduce the car-maker's new experimental petrol-electric V12 hybrid that could power the next-generation Aventador, which has now been delayed until 2024, at the earliest.
Finally, some are suggesting the concept could provide the basis for a new standalone hypercar that will enable Lamborghini to go racing against the Aston Martin Valkyrie in the new World Endurance Championship hypercar class.
Stay tuned as all will be revealed at the Frankfurt show in two weeks.
