A limited-run of 15 Bentley Continental GT Limited Editions have been unveiled to commemorate the British car-maker's record run up the world-famous Pikes Peak hill climb.
Setting a record of time of just 10min 18.4sec up the tortuous 19.99-km climb to the summit in the Rocky Mountains, the Continental GT clawed an impressive 8.4 seconds off the existing record set for a production car.
For the attempt, the big Bentley was driven by three-time champion and former 'King of the Mountain' Rhys Millen who was fed oxygen through his crash helmet to offset the effects of altitude sickness as the Conti GT attacks the 156-bends as it climbs 1439-metres to its 4302-metre summit.
Capping production to just 15 cars the special celebratory Bentley coupe sports the same 'Radium' green-and-black livery to the record-breaking car.
Prepared by the car-maker's in-house Mulliner bespoke division, buyers are offered the option of the race car's '100' number that also recognises the British marque's 100th year of car-making.
Featuring a carbon-fibre bodykit with gloss black elements, the Continental GT Limited Edition also gets bright green brake calipers that is replicate on the tyre sidewalls.
The 22-inch wheels, meanwhile, are painted gloss black and lifted from the Mulliner personalisation catalogue.
Inside, there's yet more luminous green used on the stitching for the seats, door cards and steering wheel as well as the speaker covers and piping for the mats.
In case you'd forgotten what Bentley's rolling four-wheel tribute is celebrating there's a full Pikes Peak course map etched on the full carbon-fibre dash ahead of the passenger.
An embroidered Pikes Peak logo has been woven into the headrests while a pair of kickplates, again, reference the world famous north American hill climb.
Like the car Millen drove, under the bonnet there's the same twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 that produces a thumping 473kW and 900Nm. That means the big coupe is capable of hitting 100km/h in 3.7 seconds at sea level, at least, before topping out at 333km/h.
The only thing missing is an on-board oxygen, full cage and safety kit the record-setting Continental GT offered its brave driver.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the special run of 15 Bentley Continental GT Limited Editions, so it's not yet known what premium the British car-maker is charging over the, already substantial, $422,600 (plus on-roads) charged for the fast and luxurious coupe Down Under.
