Mercedes C-Class Coupe to star at Frankfurt
Mercedes has confirmed its new C-Class Coupe will make its debut at the Frankfurt show this SeptemberAMG boss Tobias Moers has let slip in an interview with British car magazine, Autocar, that the next-generation C-Class Coupe will be launched at this September’s Frankfurt motor show.
According to Moers, the third addition to the new C-Class range will be a “sleeker and more beautiful design” and “even better to drive than it looks”.
Already spotted out on European roads testing, Moers confirmed from launch the rear-wheel drive coupe will boast a C63 AMG version powered by the sedan and wagon’s 375kW 4.0-litre biturbo V8.
Expect the fastest coupe to accelerate to 100km/h comfortably under four seconds and for the coupe to be speed limited to 250km/h.
Sporting a sharply raked windscreen compared to the regular C-Class sedan's more upright screen, the coupe’s rear styling is also said to mimic its bigger brother, the elegant S-Class Coupe.
Designed by Gorden Wagener, Mercedes’ design chief told Autocar that the coupe will be the “coolest” model in the line-up. “You’ll say ‘wow’, and love it”, Wagener added.
As well as the coupe Mercedes will also develop a convertible model that’s expected to use a folding fabric roof.
