More small car value at Toyota

Toyota turns back time with pricing on Yaris and Corolla significantly reduced

Toyota has added even more value to its Yaris and Corolla small car range, adding as much as $2410 of addition features to selected models.

A repositioning of the retail price on both Yaris and Corolla models produced from September and delivered from October 18 has seen the list price on Yaris YR three-door manual hit the same level as the same time in 2005. Overall, Yaris models have been revised by as much as 5.5 per cent.

Now starting from just $14,990, the pricing for Toyota Yaris has been reduced by up to $950 with as much as $1700 of additional value added to Yaris YRS. The improved value now sees Yaris YRS and YRX models add side, driver's knee and full-length curtain airbags, previously a $750 option, as standard equipment.

Corolla models have also seen a significant price drop, the top-selling model now including up to $2410 of added value.

Hatch models have been reduced by as much as 3.4 per cent, with the most affordable Corolla model, Ascent manual hatch, now starting at the June 2008 asking price of just $20,990.

In addition to its $750 reduction, Corolla Ascent gains a driver's knee and curtain airbags (for a total of seven) as well as rear power windows.
Corolla Levin SX hatch models also add the additional airbag package while also managing a $700 price cut for a total value gain of $1200.

Up-spec Corolla Levin ZR hatch price has dropped by $910 with a moonroof now included in the standard feature list. The total added value some $2410.

Corolla Conquest hatch also adds a moonroof, but drops the price by $610, the added value tallying some $2110.

Corolla Ascent and Conquest sedan saw a price drop with this year's facelift.

"These moves significantly improve the value of Yaris and Corolla and send a clear signal to customers that Toyota is serious about competing and does not take its market-leading position for granted," said Toyota Australia's senior executive director sales and marketing David Buttner.

"We have been able to make these changes - which represent improved value of up to nine per cent - with the help of our parent company in Japan.

"Toyota will continue to look for opportunities to offer customers the vehicles they want with competitive prices, competitive specification and competitive benefits such as Toyota's capped-price service - all backed by the quality, durability and reliability inherent in the Toyota brand."
