McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has been at it again, creating another one-off bespoke McLaren 720S -- the Stealth Theme -- for its London dealer.
Following on from the McLaren 720S Velocity, Track and Pacific specials that were unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show, MSO's latest offering sees the McLaren 720S Stealth Theme painted in the same Sarthe Grey exterior colour as the F1 GTR that won Le Mans in 1995.
Unlike the legendary racer, the special 720S also gets subtle bright red contrasting pinstripes that are claimed to highlight the McLaren coupe's dramatic lines.
The dash of rouge, which begins on the bonnet and extends to the back of the 720S was said to have been done by hand in a painstaking process carried out by a master craftsman and took almost 200 hours.
Other MSO parts include a set of satin black 10-spoke lightweight alloys that come with a single spoke painted in red. Look closely and you'll also notice plenty of satin finish carbon-fibre parts, like the front air intakes, door mirror covers, door mirror arms, aero bridge, rear deck and rear fender air-intakes.
Based on the McLaren 720S Performance, the interior is also far from standard with extra carbon-fibre and Alcantara added.
Brightening up the sea of dark materials is yet more red, this time striking leather panels stitched into the facia, door cards and seats.
Under the rear boot lid, the McLaren 720S Stealth Theme's twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 carries over unchanged over the regular coupe.
That means it makes do with the same 527kW and 770Nm as the standard 720S and comes equipped with levels of performance that remains difficult to fathom.
Against the clock, the British Ferrari 488 rival is able to hit 100km/h in less than 2.9 seconds and 200km/h in just 7.8 seconds before topping out at 341km/h.
McLaren has not disclosed how much of a premium MSO charges over the base $515,080 (plus on-roads) the 720S Performance costs Down Under.
