Citroen Australia has released local pricing and specifications for the facelifted Citroen C, which bring a fresh new look and extra equipment.
Arriving a year after the facelift was revealed in Europe and three years after the third-generation C3 went on sale in Australia, the Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia rival continues with just a single model variant priced from $28,990 plus on-road costs.
This price has been in place since August last year, when Citroen quietly pushed the C3 up by $2000, from its previous marker of $26,990 plus ORCs.
The higher starting point is now better reflected in the updated model entering showrooms, which can be recognised by its new LED headlights, fog light surrounds and redesigned ‘Airbumps’ on the side doors.
Chrome finishing strips extend from the headlights to the LED daytime running lights (DRLs), there’s new 16-inch ‘Helix’ alloy wheels, front parking sensors have been added and the rear quarter panel pattern is meant to reference the design of the Airbump ‘capsules’, according to Citroen.
The one listed option is metallic paint for $690, while new colour combinations are also on offer, including Spring Blue/Black Roof, Artic Steel/White Roof as well as an Emerald Roof matched to a Polar White body.
Inside the cabin, a new Emerald trim colour can also be optioned, while 3D mesh inserts are found on the upholstery and dashboard.
The other headline interior feature is Citroen’s Advanced comfort seating, which was first seen on the pumped-up Citroen C5 Aircross and brings extra seat padding (up to 13mm thicker) to provide more structure and better lumbar support.
Other standard equipment includes keyless entry, autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, cruise control and speed limit sign recognition.
Power comes from the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Puretech petrol engine (81kW/250Nm), which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Every Citroen C3 continues to be covered by a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty with five-year roadside assistance and Service Price Promise program.
