Ford Australia has locked in a starting price of $52,990 plus on-road costs for its new-generation 2022 Ford Everest.
The launch model pricing for the Australian-developed large SUV follows the lead set by the related Ford Ranger ute, ushering in relatively modest increases over the previous generation.
That $53K starting figure is for the Ambiente 4x2, with the 4x4 version adding $5000 to the bottom line (priced from $57,990 plus ORCs).
Each Ambiente model is $2900 more expensive than its predecessor.
The Blue Oval brand provided full details for the new Ford Everest range late last month, but held off on pricing and key options until now.
Rolling on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with all-season rubber, Ambiente 4x4 customers will have the option to fit bigger 18-inch alloys and wrap them in more capable all-terrain tyres for an additional $1100 if they plan on going off-road regularly.
Metallic paint will add $675 across the range, and a tow pack comprising tow bar, wiring harness and integrated brake controller costs $1700.
A third row is also optionally available on the five-seater Ambiente variants for $950. The remaining Everest models are all fitted with seven seats as standard.
Moving further up the range, the mid-series Trend 4x2 and 4x4 models are priced from $60,290 (+$3200) and $65,290 (+$2900) respectively.
Options specific to Trend include a $900 premium seat pack which bundles in heated and cooled front seats with power adjustment – 10-way and with position memory for the driver, eight-way for the front passenger.
Like the base grade, the Trend 4x4 will be available with an all-terrain tyre package but the price is reduced to $500 on account of it already rolling on 18-inch wheels.
Trend 4x4 buyers can also option a touring pack for $1950 that adds a 360-degree camera, zone lighting and also includes the tow bar and integrated brake controller.
All Ambiente and Trend models are powered by Ford’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder ‘Panther’ twin-turbo diesel engine (154kW/500Nm), which combines with a 10-speed automatic.
Higher-series models feature the new 3.0-litre ‘Powerstroke’ V6 turbo-diesel (184kW/600Nm), also with a 10-speed auto but with a 4x4 driveline only.
These are the Everest Sport, priced from $69,090 plus ORCs, and the range-topping Everest Platinum that kicks off from $77,690 plus ORCs – $4500 above the previously range-topping Everest Titanium (2.0-litre biturbo).
The Sport rolls on black 20-inch alloys as standard, and the Platinum on 21-inch hoops, but both can be specified with black 18s and all-terrain tyres for no extra cost.
Opting for the 18s also replaces the Platinum’s plastic underbody protection with the steel bash plates found on the rest of the 4x4 range.
The Sport offers the same $1950 touring pack as the Trend 4x4 too.
First deliveries of the new Ford Everest are scheduled to start in July.
