Citroen has peeled the covers off its facelifted 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross, which the French brand says has been “redesigned to enhance its presence on the road” and nets technology upgrades in the cabin to match.
In a sizeable step away from the current model, the new Citroen C5 Aircross features a far more chiselled front fascia with an abundance of contours and crease lines.
With a more upright grille and raised headlights, the entire front lighting signature has been updated with new running light and headlight designs, while a resculpted bumper adds an extra element of aggression with its pronounced chin.
There’s also new 18-inch alloy wheels across the range, while the rear-end has a fresh three-dimensional tail-light signature.
Interior upgrades include a new 10.0-inch infotainment interface mounted higher up on the dashboard, the same ‘Citroen Advanced Comfort’ seats as found in the Citroen C4 and a redesigned centre console.
The only other change of note is an expanded array of body and interior stitching colours.
No changes have been made under the bonnet to any of the current petrol, diesel or hybrid powertrains.
“C5 Aircross has been recognised since its launch as the most comfortable and flexible SUV in its category, and has now been given a makeover to assert a more prestigious, modern and dynamic personality,” said Citroen C5 Aircross project manager Pierre-Yves Couineau.
“While building on its strengths of comfort, on-board spaciousness and modularity, it has matured to become more elegant and dynamic, with sharper exterior styling and more modern high-quality colours, and materials for the interior.”
The new Citroen C5 Aircross will enter UK showrooms in the second quarter of 2022, and the French car-maker’s Australian distributor has confirmed that “local evaluation is underway”.
“We hope to have further information to share with you on the all-new Citroen C5 Aircross in the coming months,” a local spokesperson said.
