Odd trio at Albert Park
BMW 135i takes on V8 Supercar, Sauber F1 racer at 2009 AGPAn unlikely three-car field will line up at Melbourne's Albert Park race circuit over five days for the 2009 Ultimate Speed Comparison.
The five-race handicap event will pit a BMW 135i Coupe, a V8 Supercar and a BMW Sauber F1 race car against each other in a one-lap dash to the line that could see any car emerge the winner.
Following last year's event that pitted a BMW Z4M against a V8 Supercar and a BMW Sauber F1 car, this year's Ultimate Speed Comparison will be calculated to give each vehicle an equal chance of crossing the line first.
The BMW Sauber car will be piloted by Austrian F1 driver Christian Klien, while the Holden Commodore V8 Supercar will be driven by New Zealander Greg Murphy. Journalist Paul Gover will swap last year's Z4M for a kitted-out 135i in an attempt to recompense last year's loss.
BMW says the Ultimate Speed Challenge has proven to be a crowd favourite and this year should be no exception.
