Our five favourite random items Citroen sell in their online store

Car companies have been rolling out the branded merch for years from t-shirts and hats to keyrings, mugs and umbrellas.

We’ve covered stories about the release of branded prams to perfumes, sunglasses and even furniture, but sometimes the branded merch goes to a completely different level of innovation.

Known for its quirky style and design mantra, Citroen is one car company that loves to mix it up and certainly has merch to match. We’ve scoured the online store and have found five items you can buy that are super quirky, very Citroen but also actually usable in your own life.

Citroen Origins Monopoly

To mark the brand’s centenary, Citroen joined forces with Monopoly to create a special version of the world-famous board game.

Just like the original version, to win the game you need to know how to buy, speculate, sell and above all to negotiate. Instead of buying property the Citroen version has you purchase famous cars from throughout the brand’s long history. You are on the way to become the biggest Citroen car collector of all time. The traditional train station spots are concept vehicles, the utilities are car-related as are the game pieces.

Citroen Monopoly is available in English and French (obviously) and costs €50 ($80 AUD).

SEETROEN Carsickness Glasses

Citroen has created the SEETROEN, the first glasses designed to eliminate motion sickness. The idea behind the glasses is quite simple, the glasses are filled with moving liquid in the rings around the eyes, both along the frontal axis and sagittal axis (side of head) recreating the horizon line which works to resolve the conflict between the senses.

Initially developed for sailors, Citroen decided to extend the SEETROEN glasses to the general public which can be used on most forms of transport including boats, cars, buses and even planes

When you start to feel motion sickness coming on, put the glasses on for 10 to 12 minutes so your senses can re-synchronise then remove them and enjoy the rest of your journey.

We’ve previously covered these unique glasses which you can find out more on here, they will set you back €99 ($160 AUD).

Citroen Scented Candles

Is there anything better than having your house filled with delightful summer fragrances? Well, being out on the road yourself with the windows down would probably top it. If you are stuck at home, these set of two candles from the Citroen Origins Collection could be what you need.

The two fragrances are called Getaway in Mehari and Seaside ride in 2CV trying to instil a romantic and very classy French Riviera cruise in a classic car.

The Citroen Mehari was a lightweight mini Jeep Wrangler style recreational vehicle from 1968-1988. While the Citroen 2CV is among one of the most well-known icons of all French cars. Launched in 1948, it was designed for those living on farms and rural areas as the country was replacing horses with cheap motorised transport outside of the main cities.

The €12 ($19 AUD) candle set has a burn time of 25 hours.

Citroen Cookie-Cutter Cube

Who doesn’t love baking and fun shaped biscuits? The Citroen cookie-cutter cube is six sides of different Citroen models through history including the TYPE A, TYPE H, TRACTION, 2CV, AMI6 and CX.

Having special guests over for a coffee? Why not make them some fun shaped biscuits and play a guessing game with them.

The cookie-cutter cube is €8 ($13 AUD).

Citroen Pushbike

The Citroënist Rider by Martone is a collaboration with Martone Cycling who was tasked with creating a unique bike to accompany the 2019 Citroen Spacetourer concept vehicle. Like the concept vehicle, the push bike features a bold black-and-white design and is finished off with a bright red chain which is specific to models designed by Martone. The bike is made of a steel and aluminium alloy and weighs in at just 12 kilograms. With the high-quality manual three-speed gear system manufactured by Sturmey-Archer, cyclists can shift up and down with seamless and stylish ease. The Citroënist logo adorns the saddle and the crossbar (with the Martone Cycling logo).

You can grab your own The Citroënist Rider by Martone for €950 ($1535 AUD).
