Peugeot importer and distributor Inchcape has announced a raft of measures to bring consumers into showrooms around the country to buy a new Peugeot and bag a saving worth up to $12,000.
The announcement coincides with June, the final month of the financial year, usually a very busy time for retailers. All models are available with free metallic paint during June and 2018 models are being offered with a $2000 factory bonus. The only stipulation is that the 208, 308, 2008, 3008 and 5008 models must be ordered and delivered between June 1 and June 30 for buyers to take advantage of the offers. And if stock runs out before the end of June, the deal's off.
In addition to the $2000 bonus, 2018 models of Peugeot 3008 and 5008 GT-Line and GT will be supplied with a 'premium pack' comprising leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof, free of charge. Buyers of the 3008 and 5008 GT diesel from 2018 can potentially save over $11,500, with driveaway pricing for June reduced to $46,990 and $49,990 respectively.
As standard, all vehicles sold will be protected by a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty and five-year roadside assistance. And the brand's Service Price Promise Program can be arranged for three or five-year plans at a price reduction of 10 per cent during June.
“For the month of June, Peugeot will be offering sharp driveaway pricing across all of our existing passenger and SUV models. In fact, this is not just another end of financial year sale, this is an anniversary sale of unprecedented scale for Peugeot,” Peugeot Australia MD Ben Farlow explained.
This year the Peugeot brand is celebrating 70 years of continuous presence in the Australian market, but the incentive program is also driven by falling sales in the local market. Peugeot dealers have sold 521 cars this year, to the end of April – a decline of 30 per cent from the 744 vehicles sold for the same period in 2018. The 70th anniversary incentive program reflects the brand's large inventory of old (2018) stock. Other importers are also struggling to match the sales performance for last year, with the total market down by 8.1 per cent for the first four months of 2019.
